Robert L.D. (Bob) Cooper, BA, FSA (Scot) was born, raised and resides in Edinburgh and is curator emeritus of the Library and Museum of the Grand Lodge of Scotland in Edinburgh. He holds degrees in Public Administration, Greek history and Sociology. He was Initiated in the Lodge of Light No 1656 (SC) in 1984 and is the author or editor of 14 books, including The Rosslyn Hoax? Cracking the Masonic Code, and The Red Triangle: A history of AntiMasonry. He is a Past Master of Edinburgh Castle, No. 1764, Sir Robert Moray Lodge, No. 1641, (Lodge of Research), and Quator Coronati Lodge, No. 2076, (EC).

 

Between 1994 and 2021 Bob served as Curator of the Grand Lodge of Scotland Museum and Library, where he was the custodian of many unique and rare documents relating to Freemasonry in general and Scottish Freemasonry in particular. In 2007, 2009 and 2013 he organized and hosted the International Conference on the History of Freemasonry. He is a member of numerous Masonic research lodges and societies, a member of the Society of Blue Friars and has given Masonic lectures on six continents and over thirty counties.
